Dandeli is a small town in Uttar Karnataka which is nearly 8 hours away from Bangalore. It is the part of Western Ghat region of Karnataka and that is the reason why it has cool climate, good forest cover and heavy rainfall from August to November.

How should one travel from Bangalore to Dandeli?
If you want a hassel-free travel then you can travel to Dandeli via your own vehicle (car or bike) or hire a rental car/bike. It will take you around 8 hours to reach Dandeli from Bangalore.
There are other options as well. You can go there via government buses (KSRTC) or private buses.
Private buses are easily available and will take you only 9 hours while government buses are less in number and takes a longer route to reach. KSRTC takes around 12 hours,30 minutes to reach Dandeli from Bangalore.
It is advisable to take private buses.
There are no direct trains to Dandeli from Bangalore. Though there are direct trains to railway stations nearby to Dandeli like Alnavar (32 km), Londa (37 km), Dharwar (55 km) and Hubli (74 km). After reaching any one of these railway stations, one can take cab or bus to Dandeli.
If you are an air traveller then there is a little disappointment as Dandeli doesn't have an airport of it's own. But, you can still travel by air to the nearest airport of Belgaum which is 90kms from Dandeli . So you can travel partly via air and partly via road.
