Around 560 kms from Jaipur is the desert city or the 'golden city' of India located. Jaisalmer is popularly known as 'golden city' because of its golden sandstone out of which the Jaisalmer fort and the entire city is made of. This sandstone has a natural golden yellow color and thus the buildings does not need to be painted in any other color.
