The City of Lakes : Udaipur

Recently I visited one of the most known honeymoon destinations Udaipur. If you trust me it is a place worth praising for its scenic beauty. It is much more mesmerising than its pictures. Udaipur is a small city with around seven lakes that makes it popularly known as Lake City. 



Why is Udaipur famous? 

Udaipur was founded by Rajput king Udai Singh-II. Udaipur showcases deep history of Rajputana dynasty and Rajput warriors. The city palace of Mewar rulers stands top on the hill surrounded by Pichola lake. 

What are the good hotels to stay in Udaipur? 

If you are a honeymoon couple then all you need is a good stay that can be accomplished very well in Udaipur. The most famous and luxurious of all hotels is Taj Lake Palace that is located in the middle of the Pichola lake. Apart from that Udaipur has a number of beautiful resorts as well. What are the sightseeing places in Udaipur? 

Udaipur is a historical place with huge Hindu-mughal fusion architectural buildings and lakes. Places to visit in Udaipur are:

1. City Palace: It is the palace made by the king of Mewar when Udaipur became the capital of Mewar. It is surrounded by Pichola lake on one side. It has a beautiful compound area. It has marble furnishing. It hosts hundreds and thousands of visitors every evening for its light and sound show. The light & sound show narrates the struggle story of Mewar and its kings. 

2. Fateh Sagar Lake: This lake is linked with Pichola lake but it doesn't belong to the king. Boating is pretty cheap in this lake. Sunsets look very beautiful from here. 


3. Saheliyon ki bari: The name itself tells about the the place. Yes it is a park made by the king for his daughter to play with her friends. It has a beautiful garden and fountains inside. It is a good spot to click beautiful picture. 

4. Eklingji temple: It is a hindu temple. Eklingji was know to be the ruling God of Mewar princely state. 

What are the best places for dining and candle light dinner in Udaipur? 

There are a number of restaurants with great food and lake view in Udaipur. Some of the most famous are:

Above everything the climate is cool and romantic. So all you need is good food and good stay in Udaipur to enjoy the beauty.

 I have been to Ooty long back in 2017 and will share my views and experiences as per that visit.
