How To Plan a Trip in a Set Budget?
This blog is for those who plan their trips frequently. When we go trips very often then we surely need to adjust it as our pocket permits. Whatever our income might be, everyone needs a plan and everyone has a budget. Here are some tips that we should follow while planning a trip under a budget.
1. Set your trip budget
This is the most crucial part of planning. You should always set a budget that you want to allocate for your trip. Your budget should not be purely imaginary but based on your previous evaluation of your trips.
If you are going for a trip for the first time then you can make a budget allocation as per your income that can be modified later.
2. Make a list of places you want to cover
Once the budget is set you should research on the places you want to see at particular destination. For example, if your Destination is Jaipur then make a list of sightseeing spots that you want to cover.
Estimate number of days you need to cover those places using distance and time data of Google Maps. Once you have a rough estimation of time and distance to visit and see any place, you can allocate days for it.
3. Look for high rated budget friendly restaurants
While you travel to anywhere you should never compromise on meals. Always prefer to have food at hygienic restaurants and go for packaged drinking water. This is important because unhygienic food might upset your stomach and spoil your trip.
Try to search good restaurants nearby places you wish to visit. This will save your time as well as money. Ask your friends or relatives about good restaurants over there if they know any.
You can make a rough estimation of your expense on food by seeing the cost of food enough for one ( this info. is easily available on restaurant's website or Google Business page or food delivery apps) .
It is advisable to eat light lunch while travelling and a decent breakfast before starting to travel. This will keep you energetic and you will not feel lethargic while sightseeing.
4. Research on what you should buy from that place
Once you visit a place, you always want to take something as a souvenir. At tourist places there is high risk of fraud and local vendors might sell you fake products at double rate. So it's better to search well in advance about the things that are famous and its reasonable prices along with authorised stores from where you can buy.
5. Look for the means of local transport that you would need to cover places
This one is again very important. You need to have idea of comfortable and affordable means of local transport that could take you to places. I will recommend you to hire a cab for a day or whatever no. of days you are planning for. It is even better if you get self drive rental cars in case you know driving.
6. Reserve your tickets to that place and book the hotel room
Now you should reserve your (flight/train/bus) tickets whichever convenient. Book a hotel room at a location from where you can cover maximum places in minimum time.
7. Sum up your expenses in each of the above steps
Finally you need to sum up all your expenses and match with your set budget. Little difference can be adjusted as per your preferences. Make sure the difference in margin does not go very high. If that happens then you might have not set your budget practically.
So, these were some steps that you can follow while planning a trip under your budget. I hope this will ease out your journey.
